travel insurance including atherosclerosisWe can often provide travel insurance if you have atherosclerosis (often known as thickening of the arteries). We specialise in providing travel insurance for people with a wide range of medical conditions. In fact, we receive referrals from hospitals, GPs, clinics and medical charities from all over the UK.

It is incredibly important to have your atherosclerosis included in your travel insurance as, unfortunately, this is one of those medical conditions where medical treatment might be needed swiftly. If you don't include your atherosclerosis in your travel insurance policy, you could be opening yourself up to potentially very serious financial risk.

We will need to ask you some questions about your atherosclerosis in order to understand your individual circumstances. We don't mean to be intrusive but we do need to know how the condition affects you. We will then be able to tell you if we can include any claims related to your atherosclerosis in our cover.

What are the implications for travel insurance if you have atherosclerosis?

As we've already entioned, atherosclerosis can sometimes mean that medical attention is required urgently. It can also sometimes involve specialist care. These sort of costs are, understandably, hight.

However, If you've declared your atherosclerosis to us and we've accepted to cover it, medical claims, including consultations, investigations, medication and nursing care will be covered by the policy.

If you need to be repatriated to the UK (including being accompanied by someone medically qualified) these costs will also be met.

We will also cover new travel arrangements to get home if you've not been able to travel on your planned return date.

You might have had to extend your stay and pay for extra accommodation.

These kinds of costs will be met not only for you but also if a partner or travelling companion has stayed with you.It is therefore very important that anyone travelling with you is covered by our policy so that any claim they need to make that could be in any way regarded as linked to your atherosclerosis will be met. An 'ordinary' travel insurance might decline their claim on the same grounds as they might decline a claim made by you.

That's why we say it's essential to have your atherosclerosis included in travel insurance - it's not worth the risk not to!
