Cover for medical conditions

This is a simple guide to our cover if you or someone you're travelling with has a medical condition. Please read through it carefully.

VERY IMPORTANT!

If someone with a medical condition is traveling with a partner/spouse, friends and/or family, it is important everyone is covered under this policy.

If a holiday has to be cancelled or cut short because of someone's medical condition, it is likely that an 'ordinary' policy will not meet the claims of those travelling with the person who has the medical condition. This situation is excluded as standard in most policies - but not ours! Make sure everyone is adequately insured!

Situations where we are not able to offer cover

We cannot always offer cover. To save you wasted time and telephone calls, we have given examples below of situations where unfortunately, we cannot offer cover. We have also given the numbers of two other insureres that might be able to help.

»
If you have been discharged from hospital in the last month
»
If you smoke and there is an associated medical condition that could be affected eg asthma, diabetes, COPD/other respiratory conditions; heart or circulatory conditions (such as a stroke)
»
If you have undergone major surgery within the past 3 months or lesser surgery within the last month
»
You are awaiting cardiac surgery or the results of any non-routine investigation or tests (eg an angiogram or MRI scan)
»
You have had a coronary artery bypass graft in the last 3 months and wish to travel within Europe or in the last 6 months and wish to travel outside Europe
»
You require oxygen therapy at home or for any part of your trip
»
You have chest pains at rest or post stenting or bypass
»
If you have received chemotherapy within the past 3 months
»
If you have received radiotherapy within the past 1 month
»
If you have secondary tumours
»
If there has been a change of medication within the past 1 month
»
If you have been given a terminal prognosis

If any of the above apply to you, we are not able to offer you cover at this time. However, if your situation changes, we may be able to offer cover in the future - it'a always work checking with us again.

In the meantime, try contacting Medicover on 0870 735 3600 or Free Spirit on 0845 230 5000. These are two other companies that provide travel insurance that can include medical conditions. Please mention that you have been referred by It's So Easy Travel Insurance. If you book with them, they will give us a small commission, which, as a not for profit organisation, helps our funding. Thank you.

If none of the above apply to you, simply call our medical screening service on 0845 222 4205. They will tell you if we can include your medical condition(s) in the policy and, if so, what the price will be. They also administer the booking of the policy, so you can do everything in one phone call or get back to them when you're ready to book.
