People often ask if they should buy holiday travel insurance just for one trip or buy an annual, multi-trip policy.
The besy way to decide is to consider how many times you might be travelling during the next year and for many days per trip. If you're travelling only a couple of times for, say five days per trip, you might find it more economical to buy a policy for each individual trip.
However, if you're travelling for more days per trip, even if you're travelling only a couple of times in the next year, it could work out cheaper for you to buy an annual, multi-trip policy.
It's also possible that even though you think you won't travel often in the next year, opportunities could arise that enable or require you to travel more than you thought.
Buying an annual, multi-trip policy also means that you don't have to think about having travel insurance in place each time you travel; you need to think about it only once a year!
Annual policies usually allow you to travel any number of times in a year. However, do check with us if you're older as sometimes there is a limit on the number of trips that can be taken if you're over a certain age.
You also need to take into account how many days you'll be away per trip. Most travel insurance policies have a standard maximum number of days per trip of 31 but there are sometimes options for a greater number of days.
