Travel Advice Changes for Over 50 Countries

The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office lifts advice against travel to more than 50 countries

The traffic light system for international travel no longer applies and has been replaced with a single red list of countries that you should not travel to, based on the latest COVID-19 risk assessment. As of 11th October 2021, this red list features just 7 destinations. To find out more visit red list of countries and territories.

On Thursday 7th October, The Department of Transport announced a substantial change to the red list as 47 countries were due to be removed. The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office followed this announcement by removing advice against travel to more than 50 international destinations including Mexico, South Africa and Thailand. These changes were effective from 4am on Monday 11th October.

This news has been received with open arms across the travel industry as restrictions on international travel continue to ease. Providing there is no advice against all or all but essential travel from the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office and your destination is not named on the Governments red list, policy cover is available with It's So Easy Travel Insurance.
