Oops, did you travel without insurance? We can get you back on track
Back pain presents itself in varying degrees and there are many different causes; some conditions are chronic and others more acute. Whichever kind you have, it’s important to declare it to your insurance provider to make sure you are fully covered in the event of a claim.
Back pain is a very broad term which captures several medical conditions such as pulled muscles, disc herniations, compression fractures and even arthritis causing back pain and stiffness. Our medical questionnaire is designed to capture your medical diagnosis and ask relevant questions to assess the risk. Providing you have declared your back condition and we have confirmed this in writing, you will be fully covered should anything unforeseen happen relating to your pre-existing medical condition, including cancellation of your trip and emergency medical expenses abroad.
We don’t need to know the names of your medication or even the dosage, but we may occasionally ask whether you have been prescribed any strong painkillers such as morphine, tramadol or oxycodone and whether you’ve had any previous surgery/injections to relieve pain. When travelling, it’s always recommended to consult your doctor if you suffer from back or neck pain, as they are best placed to offer appropriate advice based on your medical diagnosis. It’s advisable to take recommended breaks during the flight, walk up and down to stretch and prevent muscle stiffness. Avoid any strenuous sports or activities that are likely to worsen your symptoms.
