Oops, did you travel without insurance? We can get you back on track
Our specialist travel insurance policy will cover people living with coeliac disease. We understand that coeliac disease can cause serious symptoms during a flare up and our policies provide reassurance and peace of mind, giving you the knowledge that if you did suffer a flare up abroad and needed to see a doctor or required emergency hospital treatment, you would be covered by your insurance.
If you have a diagnosis of coeliac disease, the thought of travelling abroad can be quite daunting. We all go on holiday to relax and experience new things, which often includes trying new food and eating at restaurants. Not being in control of the ingredients in your food is an immediate red flag, so we aim to provide a comprehensive travel insurance policy to put you at ease if you require any treatment relating to your pre-existing condition.
1 in 100 people in the UK are diagnosed with coeliac disease and it doesn’t discriminate against age! Many would be surprised to know that coeliac disease can cause symptoms such as nerve damage and disorders that affect co-ordination, balance and speech which can be especially scary for someone experiencing these for the first time. Speaking to your GP is the best way to get information and tips on travelling safely, as they are best placed to offer advice based on your medical history.
You can apply for travel and holiday insurance through our online quote journey or over the phone with our friendly UK call centre. Yes. In order for your cover to remain valid, you need to declare any pre-existing medical condition that falls within our declaration questions. If you fail to disclose relevant medical information then you may not be fully covered in the event of a claim.
Our medical condition policy is only available to permanent UK residents. View our No Minimum Residency policy which doesn’t require you to have been resident in the UK for a minimum period of time meaning that you don’t have to be resident in the UK permanently, as long as you have unrestricted access. All other policies require you to have been living in the UK for the last six months and be registered with a UK GP.
We do not need the names of the medication or the dosage, only the condition that the medication is prescribed to treat or prevent.
