Oops, did you travel without insurance? We can get you back on track
Multiple sclerosis is an autoimmune condition that can affect the brain and spinal cord causing a wide range of potential symptoms including mobility issues, speech, fatigue and numbness. Our specialist medical travel insurance policies can provide cover if you have been diagnosed with MS, subject to you completing an accurate medical screening. During our screening process, we'll ask concise and relevant questions such as your use of mobility aids, relapses over a set period of time and your independency which allows us to assess your medical diagnosis and offer the most competitive premium.
If you are travelling with a companion, as a couple or part of a larger group, it's advisable to insure all members of the travelling party under the same insurance policy. Providing your condition has been declared and we've confirmed cover in writing, if you suffered a relapse and this caused you to cancel your trip, all members insured with It's So Easy would be covered to make a cancellation claim.
Our aim is to provide a comprehensive travel insurance policy which covers all of your needs, including any existing medical conditions. Regular travel insurance is not usually designed to include cover for MS which means should you require medical attention or need to cancel for any reason that’s directly or indirectly linked to your condition, a regular policy may well decline your claim.
Preparation is key when travelling abroad with multiple sclerosis. Make sure you have enough medication for the duration of your trip, and spares in case of emergencies or delays. If you require additional assistance at the airport or during the flight, make sure the airline are aware prior to travel. If you are travelling somewhere hot, consider if the change in climate may exaggerate your symptoms.

Applying for travel insurance once you have finished treatment could, in some circumstances, reduce the premium and make the cover easier to obtain. However, if you need the cover to start whilst you are still receiving treatment because you have a holiday booked and need cover for cancellation, you will need to declare the treatment and we will quote accordingly.
Single trip cover is available for trips up to 365 days in duration depending on the policy type selected.
We do not need the names of the medication or the dosage, only the condition that the medication is prescribed to treat or prevent.
