Long Stay Travel Insurance for Australia

Long term worldwide travel insurance for Australia

In February 2022, Australia changed entry requirements to allow all fully vaccinated visa holders to return without exemption. New Zealand are set to follow in their footsteps and are ready to 'welcome the world back' with their borders due to open from May 2022.

Cover for long term travel

If you're planning a long trip to Australia, you may find it difficult to find an appropriate travel insurance policy to cover you for several months. Our long term travel insurance policies are available for trips of up to 12 months, up to the age of 79 years. If you're taking a gap year to backpack beyond Europe, finally visiting family abroad after lockdown restrictions or settling into retirement with a year long trip to Australia, look to our long term travel insurance policies for the cover you need.

Our insurance policies are the complete package including cover for cancellation, emergency medical expenses, personal property and much more. Additional cover options are available if you wish to remove policy excess or add activity cover (including surfing as standard!) Check out our policy wording or head over to our frequently asked questions for more information.

Do you cover COVID-19?

Our long stay travel insurance policies (policy numbers beginning ITS) include cover for cancellation of unrecoverable costs if you or your travelling companion test positive for COVID-19 and are unable to travel.

All policies include cover for emergency medical expenses up to £5 million or £10 million whilst abroad, which is extended to cover any coronavirus related medical expenses.

Age limits on long stay insurance

Long term travel insurance is available up to the age of 79, including cover for a range of pre-existing medical conditions. We can cover year long single trips to Europe and Worldwide. If you're looking for annual cover, trip durations are available for 31, 45 or 60 days per trip with an upper age limit of 74.
