High Risk Travel Insurance

Travelling to a high risk area? Cover may still be available for you

Most travel insurers will decline cover if you are travelling to what is considered a high-risk area or a destination where the FCDO are currently advising against all but essential travel to. In the UK, the FCDO (Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office) keep travel advice under constant review which reflects real world events such as the risk of terrorism or a pandemic. Following the travel restrictions due to COVID-19, the FCDO travel advice has been constantly changing and this is why it's always worth checking gov.uk to ensure there are no restrictions on travel in place or advice advise against “all but essential travel”.

If you are travelling to a high risk area or country, we have partnered with High Risk Voyager to ensure we still have an option for you. Please click here to visit their website for further details or to obtain a quote.

High risk voyager was initially set up to cover people travelling to war zones, crisis zones, disaster relief sites and to countries such as Afghanistan, Syria and Iraq. However, since COVID-19 emerged as a global threat, they have been providing cover to the usual tourist destinations that were unfortunately added to the government's restriction list.
